PJ grew up in Killington, Vermont and went to Woodstock Union High School. He is an avid hockey player who plays 2 times a week all year round and loves to snowboard and spend as much time as possible with his 14 year old son Leo.
PJ graduated from The University of Vermont in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing. He has worked in the financial services industry for New York Life since March of 2003.
Insurance is in his blood. His grandfather and his uncle were both insurance agents for John Hancock. Although grandpa is no longer with us, his uncle is still producing in the Boston area and was inducted into the John Hancock hall of fame in April 2009.
PJ attended the annual Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) meeting in Indianapolis in June of 2009, with his uncle who was celebrating his 25th year in the MDRT, a goal that PJ had been striving to attain since he got into the business.
In 2005 PJ received the M. Baxter Cummings award from the Vermont chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA-VT) for " New Advisor of the Year" for his sales production in 2004.
In 2007 PJ received the New York Life, 2006 New Agent of the Year award from the Vermont general office. This award is given to the agent in their first three years with the highest production level in the office.
He continues his education through The American College and earned his Life Underwriter Training Council Fellowship (LUTCF) designation early on in his career and has started taking classes toward his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation.
He is a Past President of The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA-VT) and has also served as the membership Chair the past Chairman of the Young Advisor Team (YAT). The YAT program helps newer agents in their first five years to grow their production and stay in the business.
He also serves as the Mentor Coordinator of the Wealth Builders Chapter of BNI (Business Network International) which meets every Wednesday morning at the Eagles Club in South Burlington.
He is a Past President of the South Burlington Rotary Club, serves on their board and is very active in his community. He exemplifies the Rotary motto "Service above self".
He is the treasurer of the South Burlington City Center Collaborative, (SB3C) a non-profit volunteer driven organization that supports and promotes a vibrant and healthy city center through a collaborative community effort.
